As a CARFAX Top Shop nominee, we’re known for diagnosing problems that others miss. We often get referrals from other shops when they can’t determine the cause of a mechanical issue. You’ll find us conveniently located at 5911 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. We’re open Mon – Fri: 8AM – 5PM and plan after-hours pick-up/drop-off if you can’t come in during regular hours. To make an appointment, you can complete our online form or call us at (253) 582-3606. Our friendly staff will guide you through the process and find a time that works for you.
Scope of Mechanical Work
At European Motors, we want to partner with you to take great care of your Volkswagen. We’ll help you stick to the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule, including routine care points such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotation/balancing. Beyond that, we can also attend to major mileage service needs and tune-ups, including spark plug cleaning/replacement, replacing belts and hoses, and fluid changes and flushes. Also, we’ll make quick work of the routine repairs that every vehicle needs, such as brake pad replacement. Beyond these anticipated mechanical visits, our team is prepared to help you when the unexpected happens. We have the skill set and specially sized tools needed to repair your VW efficiently. Some of the common ones are specific to not only the brand but also specific models. For example, some owners encounter more overheating issues than they anticipated. The underlying cause for some of those cars is leaking coolant, while others have prematurely worn cooling system parts. Any trouble with the cooling system is more readily noticeable in a Volkswagen because they generally hold less coolant than others. Another source of trouble is a propensity for sludge formation, making regular maintenance even more critical. The most frequent report is tracked to the Passat around the 100,000-mile mark. Also, some Volkswagens have a quick-to-trigger check engine light. All modern cars sold in this country have one, and an illuminated light shouldn’t be ignored. Just be aware that yours could be presented falsely. Finally, beware of bad ball joints in some models. This will require us to make suspension repairs.
